Match preview; Hednesford Town v Bromsgrove Sporting

Monday 26/10/2020

After two games on the road the Pitmen return to the PRG Stadium at Keys Park to face Bromsgrove Sporting in the Pitching In Southern League Premier Central. The two sides met during pre-season playing out an entertaining 1-1 draw at the Victoria Ground, with Danny Glover opening the scoring from the penalty spot.

The Rouslers have experienced mixed results so far this season, having lost their last two league games against Needham Market and Hitchin Town on Saturday, since a narrow win over AFC Rushden & Diamonds. They currently sit in 16th place, four points and four places above the Pitmen. Hednesford Town will be looking to produce another strong performance after Saturday’s unlucky defeat at Royston Town, when a clear penalty for handball was not given during the final minutes. Ahead of the game Pitmen interim manager Keenen Meakin-Richards commented;

“I have told the boys to pick themselves up from Saturday, stick to our values and put in a top performance on and off the ball. Bromsgrove are a good team who like to press and have two good strikers up top, we will have to match them physically and can hopefully get a good result.”

Rhys Thompson and Lee Smith have departed from Keys Park since our last home game, while Shrewsbury Town have recalled goalkeeper Cameron Gregory. Taylor Allen, Reece Flanagan and Kyle Rowley have recently joined the Pitmen and featured in the squad for the last two games.
