Preview; Hednesford Town v AFC Rushden & Diamonds

Friday 16/10/2020

After an eventful week of comings and goings at Keys Park, the Pitmen look to continue their revival with a trip to AFC Rushden & Diamonds in the Pitching In Southern Central League.

The Diamonds are in 12th position after five games featuring a 7-1 thumping of Hitchin Town along with two draws and two defeats.

The Pitmen have added defender Kyle Rowley and midfielder Reece Flanagan to the squad along with Numair Rashad and Romehl Seraton who have been promoted from the youth academy. Lee Smith has joined Chasetown while Dan Preston and John Dodd have gone to Sutton Coldfield Town on a month’s loan.

Jed Davies has resumed training and is hopefully a week away from fitness, Andy Wycherley is also recovering and should be available in a week or two, while Will Norcross is still a few weeks from fitness.

Pitmen interim manager Keenen Meakin-Richards commented; “The two boys from the academy have a really bright future in the game, Reece is a really good signing and will bring a lot of creativity to the centre midfield, Kyle Rowley knows this league from his time at Stratford and Alvechurch, good in the air and a good footballer.”
