WELCOME BACK TO THE PITMEN – INTERNATIONAL STRIKER REECE STYCHE

Tuesday 25/05/2021

We are proud to announce that the Gibraltar International striker has agreed terms to join the front line of the Pitmen, for the upcoming 21/22 season.

Reece Styche (32) returns to the Pitmen following him starting his career with us, when he scored a brace against Kendall Town on his debut, giving the pitmen a 3-2 Victory.

Reece is a talented and versatile striker will line up for Hednesford Town FC from Buxton.  His career has seen him play at a number of clubs, which included 107 appearances for Forest Green Rovers, and 36 appearances for Kidderminster Harriers, to name but a few.

Reece also is part of the current Gibraltar International team, where he earned his first appearance for them in 2014.  He also scored this year in the International against Montenegro on the 27th March 2021 from the spot.  Calmly slotting the ball home into the back of the net while under the pressure of the cameras, he is due out on International duties again over the next few days.  His career has seen him score in World Cup Qualifiers, European Group Stages and he has won the Nations League.

Reece stated “I’m very excited to return back to Hednesford Town, and I’m highly driven and committed to continue my goal scoring back at Keys Park.  The draw of the newly appointed management team, with their passion and professionalism, was a huge reason for agreeing to return to Hednesford Town FC.  Having seen the developments around the team in recent times, I knew it was something I would want to be part of, and I cannot wait to be back out there and I’ll do everything I can to deliver for the team and the fans”.

KMR stated “Reece brings a level of experience and professionalism into the team, which is sure to bring end product.  His willingness and desire to come across to Hednesford Town FC, shows that both Reece and the team all buy into the ethos we are developing.

We are consistently analysing everything, to ensure progression and development on a personal and team level for every player, is a key part of what we are developing.   The stable steppingstones required to produce a successful football team.

Upon speaking with Reece, we knew immediately that we wanted Reece to return to Keys Park where he first started his career, to be part of what will be a huge push this season, to move the club forwards positively.  We have had a very disrupted season due to coronavirus, and we have used this time wisely to ensure we have a depth of squad, which is competitive in all areas to ensure competition for positions is there, alongside the additional coaching work that has been going on behind the scenes.  But not only that, it is to ensure the whole team know in football, we will only win as a team, not just 11 players, but the whole team.  Injuries occur, tiredness creeps in, last minute unknowns can hit us.  We need the strength as a team on and off the pitch, to ensure we are best placed to deliver what the fans all desire.  That’s our goal, and we will stop at nothing to ensure we do everything we can to bring in the right players to enable this to happen.

Reece joining us, is a true statement for the Pitmen to land a current international striker.  It is a pleasure to be working with Reece, as he will not only bring goals, but he will assist everyone in the team raising their games further.  Reece looks fresh as the first day he ran out onto the pitch, and he will no doubt be a wonderful talisman for the Pitmen.

We are a team on and off the pitch.  We work hard as a team, and we will deliver as a team.  We’re all so excited to get going now, as we intend to do our business as early as possible to ensure we have the maximum amount of time to plan, coach, and gel together as a team, to maximise our effectiveness on the pitch.  Reece joining us is part of that mentality and planning that we wish to ensure we maximise on the impressive strike prowess that Reece brings to the table”

We hope your excited as us and join us in welcoming back International striker Reece Styche.
