Tamworth FC v Hednesford Town

Friday 31/12/2021

The Pitmen kick-off 2022 with the short trip across Staffordshire for a New Year’s Day meeting with Tamworth FC. The Lambs are four points and four places behind the ninth placed Pitmen with two games in hand, both sides will be looking for maximum points in a bid to close the gap between themselves and the play-off contenders.

Hednesford have gained five points from four games during December with a win and two draws. Tamworth have lost three and drawn two during the same period, extending a difficult run of form dating back to October that has resulted in Andrew Danylyszyn stepping down as manager, leaving Gary Smith in the dugout tomorrow.

At the time of writing, Keenen Meakin-Richards has the same squad availability as for Monday’s fixture against Rushall Olympic. Tamworth have added former Pitmen forward Ahmed Obeng to their squad, who has joined from Stratford Town.
