On Saturday Hednesford return to action and entertain Hitchin Town in their latest Southern League Premier Central game. Both teams have had a bit of a rest, their last games being on Saturday 4th March when they both lost, Hednesford 2-0 at Royston and Hitchin 1-0 at home to Tamworth.
The Canaries are perched in 12th place in the current league table, nine points above the relegation zone with 45 points from their 33 games. On the road they have won five times, drawn two games and lost ten including heavy defeats at Coalville (1-5) and Royston (2-4). When the two clubs met earlier in the season at Top Field it was honours even in a 1-1 draw. Both goals were scored in a two-minute second half spell with Kyle Bennett’s 56th minute opener for Hednesford cancelled out by Malachi Black’s equaliser just sixty seconds later.
The Pitmen will have just six games remaining after the encounter with Hitchin with trips to Barwell, Ilkeston, and Leiston to come along with home games against Needham Market, Rushall Olympic and Kings Langley.
Kick off will be at the usual time of 3pm with gates and bars open at 1pm. Admission is £12 adults,
£9 concessions, £5 U16s (with a supervising paying adult) and U5s free (again if accompanied by a
paying adult). A family ticket for one adult and one U16 is £15.
