Management team departs Pitmen

Sunday 22/10/2023

Hednesford Town can confirm that manager Danny Glover has been relieved of his duties as player/manager of Hednesford Town Football Club as has assistant manager Dan Crane and the remaining members of the coaching staff.

A statement by Chairman Hayden Dando said “I can confirm that I have spoken to Danny Glover and informed him of the decision to relieve him of his role as first team manager along with Dan Crane and the backroom staff of Martin Prentice and Garry Walker.

“This was one of the most difficult conversations I have ever had in football as Danny Glover is not only someone I think a lot of but he is someone who this football club owes a great deal of gratitude to for sticking with us during the most difficult time in the clubs history during the summer, I haven’t known Craney quite as long but he is also someone who I have the upmost respect for and an equally tough conversation had to be had with him.

“Ultimately football is a results game and I get that hence the decision as the results haven’t been there unfortunately but I want to put on record that I firmly believe Danny Glover will be a top manager it just hasn’t worked out on this occasion.

“For as long as I am involved at Hednesford Town Danny and Dan will always be welcome at the club and in my humble opinion are Hednesford Town legends, I want to thank them both along with Martin and Garry for all their hard work at the club and I genuinely wish them all the very best for the future”.

An announcement will be made regarding the first team management in due course.
