Hednesford Town Youth Team last night claimed the Midland Floodlit Youth League Northern Division following a 2-2 draw at Kidsgrove Athletic. The young Pitmen had to come from behind twice in order to become champions, against a Kidsgrove side that could still have pipped Hednesford to the title.

Amani Allen and Alex Morris got the all important goals for Keith Holmes’ side, who have managed to clinch the title with two games to spare, a great achievement for all involved.

The youngsters still have two games left this season, away to Darlaston Town on Tuesday 8th May before travelling to Wednesfield to face Wolverhampton Sporting on Thursday 10th May.
