Hednesford Town 1-0 Hereford FC

Sunday 10/07/2022

Hednesford Town continued their preparations for the new season welcoming Hereford FC to Keys Park, after two promising goal filled games against Birmingham City XI and neighbours Heath Hayes. The opening 15 minutes were goalless with Joe Cuff shooting wide for the Pitmen after a powerful run. Hereford failed to break the deadlock with a series of corners. Lewis Gwilliams made an instinctive low save to prevent Hereford from scoring a free kick just outside the area. Midway through the first half Tyrone Barnett headed into the side netting from a Hereford corner. Kyle Bennett forced an excellent save from visiting goalkeeper Brad Wade on the half hour mark. Both sides gave a good account of themselves in an evenly contested first half.

HT 0-0

Both teams began the second half with multiple changes of personnel. During an extended spell of Pitmen pressure Leroy Lita dispossessed a Hereford defender, found Chay Tilt who set up Numair Rashad to finish clinically from 20 yards for the youngster’s first goal for the senior team. Rashad came close to bagging his second before Luke Rowe headed over from a corner. Lita rattled the post as the dominating Pitmen looked to extend their lead. There were no further goals as Hednesford Town chalked up their second pre-season win.
