Hednesford Town are very pleased to announce that former Port Vale man Louis Dodds has signed for the club ahead of the 2020/21 season.
Dodds, 33, began his career with Leicester City before loan spells with both Rochdale and Lincoln City, turning down an extended deal with the Foxes to arrive at Port Vale where he would spend the next 8 years and make 289 appearances scoring 51 goals. He moved on to Shrewsbury Town and Chesterfield before a return to Vale Park for the 2018-19 season. He finally left league football signing for National League Chorley FC in 2019-20.
With over 400 football league appearance, the versatile Dodds can play either as a front man or midfielder and manager Andy Morrell targeted the signing of Dodds early on to add creativity and experience to the Pitmen squad for the new season. Dodds said “I’m excited to be here at Hednesford, the ground is as good as many in the National League and I have been impressed with the plans for the club. I know a few of the lads such as Danny Glover and I’m looking forward to getting started”.
