Preston becomes a Pitman

Saturday 11/07/2020

Hednesford Town FC are pleased to announce that tough tackling defender Dan Preston has agreed to join the club for the 2020/21 season.

28 year old Preston began his career at Birmingham City, spending time on loan with then league two Hereford, before his first permanent move to AFC Telford United, where he made 70 appearances. He then made loan moves to Barrow and Stourbridge before joining Andy Morrell at Tamworth in 2014, where he gained a big reputation in the National league North as a tough, no nonsense defender. From there Preston made appearances on loan over the last few years at Leamington, ourselves at Hednesford Town, Stourbridge, and Bromsgrove as well as short stints at Stratford,Sutton Coldfield, Nuneaton and Bedworth, but the lure of returning to play for his former boss Andy Morrell was strong and Dan was delighted to be offered the chance to join the Pitmen for the 2020/21 season.

A player who Andy Morrell knows how to get the very best out of and will be a big presence for the club both on and off the pitch, welcome to Hednesford Town Dan!
