Match Preview: Stafford Rangers (H)

Tuesday 04/09/2018

Hednesford Town return to action this evening as we play local rivals Stafford Rangers at Keys Park.

After picking up three away victories on the spin, seeing us move into fourth place in the Evo-Stik Northern Premier League, we go into this fixture looking to record our first victory on our home patch this season.

Rangers meanwhile arrive here tonight on the back of their first victory of the season on Saturday and have a plethora of former Pitmen in their squad including former skipper Tom Thorley.

Manager Rob Smith was relishing the chance of another derby fixture against Stafford Rangers.

He said:

“I have had the pleasure of being involved in many of these derby games and they are always a fantastic occasion, we know how much they mean to the fans.

“For us obviously there is the added incentive of a derby win, but just as important is that we get a home victory as soon as possible.

“I’d just like to say thank you for your support so far. I know the lads really appreciate it, as do I, please continue to get behind the us all, it really makes a difference”

Smith will pretty much have a full squad of players to choose from as midfielder Reece King returns from suspension, however Charley Edge is still a doubt after picking up an injury last week.

The game kicks-off at the usual midweek time of 7.45pm and we look forward to your support at Keys Park as we look to gain our first victory at home this season.

Admission Prices

The game will be segregated and will follow similar procedures to previous Staffordshire Derby fixtures. Hednesford supporters, who are asked to enter via turnstiles 3A, 3B, 4A and 4B, will be allocated the Main Stand and Heath Hayes Terrace while Stafford fans, who can enter through turnstiles 2A and 2B, will have the Hednesford End of the ground. No supporters from either side will be allowed on the Wimblebury Terrace – with this stand being closed.

The Chase Suite Bar will be open for Hednesford fans while Stafford fans will have the use of Strikers Bar. As the Club Shop sits in the segregated area, for this game it will be situated in the Chase Suite.

Car Park Update
As supporters will have seen work continues to take place on the approach road and car park at Keys Park. Hednesford supporters are asked to park behind the Heath Hayes End of the ground while Stafford Rangers supporters will have the use of the main car park in order to keep fans closest to their entrance turnstiles. Spaces will be filled on a first come first served basis.
