Dando departs club

Monday 07/02/2022

Hednesford Town Football can today confirm that vice-chairman Hayden Dando has stepped down from his position on the board of directors and has sold his shareholding to business partner Graham Jones who takes sole control of the club with immediate effect.

Dando, 36, arrived with Jones as co-owners in May 2020 however he confirmed his departure with the following statement –

“I have today agreed and finalised the sale of my shares in Hednesford Town Football Club to Graham and have stepped down from my role as vice-chairman with immediate effect. This decision has not been taken lightly as my friendship with Graham is incredibly important to me as is my affinity for the football club. During our time here together I hope we have achieved some of the things that we set out to do, Graham is the right man for the club and will continue to build and grow this club with the support from the supporters, the management and players at this club are quite simply superb to work with and with your backing I really believe they can achieve something special. My decision has not been an easy one however a combination of me having some other business opportunities that I wish to pursue and pressure on my time with my family has led to Graham and myself making the decision that it is the right time for me to leave, running a football club is a very time consuming activity which perhaps people don’t always realise before they make public criticism as often happens. I hope my time with the club has been beneficial and I have enjoyed a fantastic relationship with the vast majority of Hednesford Town supporters and I have really enjoyed the past couple of years. My business Lionheart Security Services LTD will remain a club sponsor and will continue to supply security and stewarding to the club so you will still see me taking in games at the club when time allows, for now I want to thank my wife and children for their patience, the management team, staff, volunteers, players and supporters of the club as well as Graham who is not only a superb business partner but also one of my closest friends and it has been a pleasure to work alongside him. It is your responsibility as supporters of this club to get behind Graham and the team and push this club forward to where it deserves to be, up the pitmen”
