Hednesford Town and Blyth Spartans have this evening come to an agreement to sign experienced defender Gavin Caines.
The Pitmen are now awaiting clearance from the Evo-Stik Northern Premier League that the 33-year-old has been registered in time for tomorrow’s clash at Workington AFC.
Caines has a wealth of experience having played over 250 times for Cheltenham Town, Kidderminster Harriers and Forest Green Rovers in a career that has spanned 12 years.
Having spent the last three seasons with Rushall Olympic the defender made the switch to the North East in the summer.
The Pitmen hope to be able to announce another new face on Saturday morning.
