The son of former Hednesford, Walsall and Cameroon international defender (of the same name), Charlie caught the eye of a number of clubs after scoring on a regular basis in the club’s youth system and particularly in their 2011-12 double winning team.
His performances and progress were rewarded by a place in the first team picture towards the end of the following season, as he was named amongst the substitutes for the Pitmen’s historic play-off final win against FC United of Manchester.
Pre-season saw Charlie become a regular fixture in the first team squad, notching the club’s first goal of the pre-season campaign at AFC Wulfrunians. Half way through the pre-season run, it was confirmed that he had signed a contract for the forthcoming Conference North campaign.
