Hugely experienced midfielder who joined the Pitmen from local rivals AFC Telford United in January 2015

A well known and established name in non-league football, Todd has had a long and distinguished career at the top level of the football pyramod, as well as spells at league clubs Accrington Stanley and Rotherham United. The Nottingham-born player was initially a junior at hometown club Nottingham Forest, but was released from the City Ground in the summer of 1999 without making a first team appearance. He had spent a short spell at Nationwide Conference side Scarborough the previous season, making only one appearance for the Seadogs

After leaving Forest, Todd made the short trip across the county to Eastwood Town and spent two seasons at Coronation Park. He made the well-worn route from Eastwood to Worksop in the summer of 2001, to link up with Worksop Town. Four successful seasons at Sandy Lane saw Todd come to prominence, before making another short hop across to local rivals Hucknall Town in July 2004

His excellent form for Hucknall during the 2004-2005 campaign brought him to the attention of Conference side Burton Albion, with NIgel Clough bringing in the tall midfielder in July 2005. In his one and only season at the new Pirello Stadium, Todd played a role in Burton’s fantastic F.A. Cup run that saw them force a replay with Manchester United in January 2006. He was allowed to join Conference league leaders Accrington Stanley for an extended loan spell at the end of January 2006, playing a major part in Stanley clinching promotion to the football league for the first time in forty four years

Todd earned a permanent move to the Crown Ground in the summer of 2006, where he was a popular figure in Stanley’s first season back in the league. He was a virtual ever present as John Coleman’s side did enough to maintain their league status for a second season

Rotherham United were Todd’s next port of call in the summer of 2007,with the struggling Millers failing to overtutn a CVA ruling that had docked them ten points at the start of the campaign. They were predictablby relegated at the end of the season, with Todd agreeing a new deal for the League Two side in the summer. He had spent the second half of a terrible campaign for the Millers back on loan at Accrington Stanley in a bid to get vaulable first team games

Under the new management of Mark Robins, Todd was frozen out of the side upon his return to Rotherham and was loaned to former club Eastwood Town in October 2008, extending the deal until the end of the season as the Badgers stormed to the UniBond Premier League title

Despite strong interest from Eastwood in the summer, Todd opted to join neighbours Alfreton Town in the summer of 2009 after his release from Rotherham. Aftreton finished thrid in the table at the end of the seaosn, but fell short in the lottery of the play-offs as Nicky Law looked towards promotion to the Blue Square Premier

Eastwood finally got their man in the summer of 2010, as Todd joined the Badgers on a permanent deal as Rob Yong’s ambitious club looked to beat their similarly ambitious neighbours Alfreton to promotion. An excellent season for Todd and Esstwood saw them finish fourth in the table, just behind Alfreton, but fail to win promotion via the play-offs

Todd made another short hop across the East Midlands in the summer of 2011, joining Mansfield Town as player/coach, following his friend and former manager Paul Cox from Eastwood. His time on the pitch was limited, as the Stags lost to York City in the play-off semi-final at the end of the season. The 2012-2013 season saw Mansfield finish the job, as the well-funded side clinched the Blue Square Bet Premier title in April 2013 after winning twenty of their last twenty four games

Todd remained in the Conference after leaving Mansfield in the summer of 2013, joining Tamworth in a similar player/coach role after impressing on trial. Tamworth weere unable to reproduce the heroics of previosu seasons in staying at non-league football’s top table, and were relegated back into Conference North at the end of a rotten campaign at the Lamb in May 2014

After leaving Tamworth, Telford manager Liam Watson moved quickly to bring the midfielder in to bolster his newly promoted squad in the summer of 2014, making Todd his player/coach and club captain in the process. The Bucks’ Vanarama Conference campaign was one of predictable struggle, with Todd spending much of his time at Telford on the bench. He was allowed to join Hednesford after a major shake up of the first team squad by new manager Steve Kitterick in January 2015. He made his debut in a 2-0 win over Guiseley the following day
