Highly experienced front man who rejoined the Pitmen in May 2015 from Vanarama Conference side Altrincham

A local lad who started his career as a junior at Walsall, Perry was one of the first signings for the newly-reformed AFC Telford United, who agreed a long term loan deal for the teenager in the summer of 2004. He repaid Bernard McNally’s faith in him by weighing in with twenty three goals as the Bucks clinched promotion from the UniBond Division One at the end of the season

He agreed to a permanent switch to Telford in the summer of 2005, but spent a portion of it out on loan at Sutton Coldfield Town as Telford adapted to the higher level in 2005-2006

He joined Hednesford for the first time in the summer of 2006, signing for the club after a successful trial period. However, he made only one appearance for the side – the opening day defeat at home to Marine – before becoming an early casualty of Phil Starbuck’s reign as he was allowed to join local side Willenhall Town two weeks later

Linking up with another one game wonder for the Pitmen – Matthew Barnes-Homer – Perry and his strike partner caused havoc in the Southern League Division One, finishing as the league’s top scorer with twenty six goals. His form attracted interest from a number of clubs, with big-spending Chasetown signing the striker in the summer of 2007. An excellent performance in Chasetown’s 1-0 over Port Vale in the F.A. Cup saw Vale sign both Perry and Chasetown colleague Chris Slater as a consequence of their performances

The step up into league football proved tough for the pair, however, with Perry failing to find the net in fifteen months of football at Vale Park. A brief spell at Northwich Victoria had re-ignited Perry’s interest in non-league football, with the player joining newly-relegated Mansfield Town on a two year deal in June 2009

After a consistent season for the Stags, Perry was allowed to leave in the summer of 2010 and move closer to home to join fellow Blue Square Premier side Tamworth. A superb 2010-2011 season at the Lamb saw Perry back to his best, plundering seventeen goals as Tamworth once again defied the detractors and remained at non-league’s top table

After rejecting a new deal with Tamworth in the summer of 2011, he joined another ex-Football League side, signing for the recently relegated Lincoln City. A three goal return for the Imps saw Perry loaned out to AFC Telford for the remainder of the season, re-joining the Bucks and scoring his only goal in thirteen starts against Lincoln after his parent club gave permission for him to play against them

His Lincoln nightmare was ended with a return to the Midlands in July 2012, signing for Nuneaton Town after a brief trial. Despite the pomp and fanfare surrounding his signing, Perry only made a handful of appearances for Nuneaton and spent the majority of the season out on loan at fellow Conference sides Hereford United and Tamworth

He was reunited with former Port Vale manager Lee Sinnott in May 2013, as he joined Skrill North side Altrincham on a one year contract. His twelve goals were a big factor in Alty’s run to the end of season play-offs, playing against the Pitmen in the two-legged semi final and coming on as a substitute in the final win over Guiseley

After agreeing a one year extension to his Altrincham deal in the summer of 2014, Perry spent a frustrating season mainly as a substitute as the Cheshire side consolidated their place in the Vanarama Conference with a seventeenth placed finish

In May 2015, Perry was one of five players who would not be offered new deals by Altrincham. The Cannock-based player quickly linked up with the Pitmen, boosting the club’s attacking options early in the pre-season programme
