Highly experienced player at this level, who joined the Pitmen in June 2015 from local rivals Tamworth
A much-travelled player in these parts, England futsal International Adams started his career at Leamington, where he became a crowd favourite with his midfield style. After over 130 games for the Brakes, he earned a move to Conference North side AFC Telford United in the summer of 2008
He earned a reputation whilst at Telford as being one of the best ball-playing midfielders at step two level, helping the Bucks a fourth placed finish in the league, the Setanta Shield, an F.A. Cup draw with Southend United (which Adams scored both goals in a 2-2 draw) and an F.A. Trophy Semi-Final appearance – all in his first season at the New Bucks Head under Rob Smith and Larry Chambers
The second season was less spectacular for Telford, with Smith and Chambers fired by the club after failing to build upon their success of the previous season. Andy Sinton took the reigns at the club the following year, gaining promotion to the Blue Square Bet Premier at the end of the season courtesy of a win over Guiseley in the play-off final. Adams dropped out of favour in the Bucks’ 2011-2012 campaign and was allowed to return to Leamington for a short loan spell in early 2012
After being given a free transfer by Telford in May 2012, he launched a public broadside at Sinton upon his departure, accusing the former England winger of picking players on reputation rather than form after the Bucks had struggled to consolidate their position at the higher level
Nuneaton Town moved quickly to snap up Adams following his release from Telford in May 2012, with the player slotting into Kevin Wilkin’s midfield as Nuneaton surprised many in the Blue Square Premier by spending much of the season in and around the play-off places
The 2013-2014 campaign however was one of frustration for Adams, as injury kept him out of the side for long periods of the season. He was unsurprisingly released by Nuneaton in the summer of 2014, and made the well-trodden path back along the A5 to join newly relegated Tamworth in June. He became a key player for the Lambs in midfield, playing a big part in a record breaking twelve game winning sequence that lifted Andy Morrell’s side into top ten finish
Perhaps surprisingly, he was given a free transfer by Tamworth in June 2015 and was immediately snapped up by the Pitmen, linking up again with Smith and Chambers at Keys Park and joining Lambs team-mate Tom James in agreeing a one year deal with the Pitmen
